Above the Oaks

The Newcomb Dance Company and Tulane’s Department of Theatre and Dance presents the Fall dance mainstage production, Above the Oaks 2025. Now in its 24th year, Above the Oaks is a showcase of the student choreographers shaping the future of movement in these new works of modern dance.

The 2025 productions features work from our new MFA cohort Stuart Meyers and Emmalee Sutton, and undergraduates Sydney Long, Jillian Ivy, Sofia Severson, Nya Phillips, and Allie Smail.

Themes change by the semester, but this is an exploration of Contemporary Modern Dance shown in our third-floor studio nestled amongst the live oaks. Join us and see what exciting and new choreographic work our students are able to imagine.
