APAMSA Grand Rounds: Asian American Discrimination in Times of Economic + Pandemic Crises

Online

Featuring Sonia Malhotra, MD, MS & Stephen Chao, MD

Over the course of this pandemic, we have seen an alarming increase in racism and xenophobia against Asian Americans. As the pandemic continues, so has the verbal abuse and physical violence. In light of this situation, how do we respond as individuals and a community? To address this situation and the concerns surrounding it, Tulane APAMSA has partnered with APAMSA Region IX to hold a moderated panel discussion about the discrimination against Asian Americans in times of crises in the past and present time. This panel discussion will be held over Zoom on Monday, April 27, at 12:00 PM CT. Our guest speakers will be Stephen Chao, MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Sonia Malhotra, MD, MS, FAAP from Tulane University School of Medicine.

As this is an issue that affects our entire community, we ask you to join us in solidarity in addressing this problem and discussing the solutions. We know that there are many perspectives surrounding this situation, and we would like to provide a moderated space for you to share your perspectives and ask your questions.
