Human Inhabitation & Equity: Right to the City and Neoliberal Urbanism in the Philippines,” a lecture by Edson G. Cabalfin, Ph.D., on Monday, October 19, 2020, from 5:15-6:30pm Central Time (U.S. & Canada). @edsonix73

Dr. Cabalfin is the newly appointed Director of the Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Program and Professor of Practice in Design Thinking at the Tulane School of Architecture. A licensed and registered architect in the Philippines, Dr. Cabalfin also runs his design consultancy Talyer Kayumanggi/Brown Workshop, based in Cincinnati and Manila, with projects in architecture, interior design, set design, costume design, fashion design, exhibition design, graphic design, and design strategy in North America, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East in the last 25 years.

After his initial presentation, Dr. Cabalfin will be joined by two additional respondents for an interdisciplinary conversation about his remarks and to answer any audience questions. The two respondents are:

  1. Christopher Oliver, Ph.D., Professor of Practice, Sociology and Environmental Studies Program and Jill H. and Avram A. Glazer Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at the Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship, Tulane University
  2. Carol McMichael Reese, Ph.D., Favrot Professor, Tulane School of Architecture and Director, City, Culture, and Community (CCC)

Join us for a socially distanced watch party in Richardson Memorial Hall Room 201 at 5:15pm. After the lecture, there will be some prepackaged snacks available for pick up in Favrot Library!
