CACTUS Cookies and Climate Change Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Uptown Campus
LBC Stibbs (Room 203)

We will be showcasing the film Frontliners by filmmaker Anya Sastry on April 8th at 4 pm in the LBC. with a panel discussion with the filmmaker and climate action experts to follow. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in environmental discourse. Earth-themed custom cookies will be distributed to all attendees.

On Frontliners: Frontliners focuses on the issue of environmental injustice within the United States and highlights two on-the-ground fights for climate action and justice. The first part of the film focuses on an Indigenous community in Northern Minnesota combating the Line 3 pipeline and the second part focuses on a Latinx community working for environmental justice in Chicago. Through interviews with community organizers, activists, and those experiencing these issues firsthand, Frontliners gives you an in-depth look at the negative impacts of climate injustice, as well as highlights those who are on the frontlines and who are dedicating their lives to bettering their communities.
