CEA Open Sessions
About the Event
The CEA Open Sessions are a unique opportunity for facilitated, peer-to-peer dialogue. This is not a lecture series—it is a collaborative space where you can bring your experiences, questions, and perspectives to the table. Our goal is to move beyond surface-level discussion and engage in authentic conversations that promote mutual respect, critical reflection, and intentional action.
Join us to explore the essential values that underpin effective leadership and community work. You will leave these sessions with greater clarity on your personal role and new skills for relating to others.
What You Will Gain
These sessions are designed to help you strengthen both your inner purpose and your external impact. You will practice and learn:
-
Serving with Integrity: Understanding how to align your actions with our foundation on ethical service principles.
-
Connecting Across Differences: Developing the capacity to value diverse viewpoints and foster genuine intergroup respect.
-
Understanding Your Personal Influence: Reflecting on self-awareness and how your internal state impacts your social and community work.
-
Skills for Truly Hearing Others: Practicing active listening techniques that build trust and deepen understanding.
-
Building Stronger Communities Together: Exploring collaborative and meaningful strategies for engagement.
Who Should Attend?
The majority of our participants are students currently enrolled in a service-learning course or participating in the public service internship program. These sessions are ideal for any Tulane student committed to personal growth, ethical service, and collaborative community building. If you are ready to engage in thoughtful dialogue and challenge your current perspective in a supportive environment, we encourage you to join.
