The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival presents The Comedy of Errors for its 2021 Season

A return to theatre, laughter, beaches, lounges and the good ol’ 1980s!

The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane presents Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Mischief and mistaken identities take to the stage in this production of one of Shakespeare’s funniest plays. Directed by the imaginative Jon Greene (Radical Buffoons), this production is a lighthearted romp that any audience member can appreciate. Audiences can expect plenty of ribald wordplay, clown-like slapstick, and outlandish situations in this Shakespeare comedy about twin brothers separated at birth that unknowingly visit the same city. Misunderstandings and mayhem abound on their way to reuniting with each other. An ideal escape from the heat of New Orleans in July, this play is set on the breezy beaches of 1983. Get swept away in the nostalgia as Shakespeare Festival talents bring the classic words of Shakespeare to life!

This season’s performance is the perfect re-introduction to live theatre with the beauty of traditional Shakespearean language, lively performances and the 1980s style. Join us for a unique take on one of Shakespeare’s funniest plays; prepare for a night of beaches and belly laughs!

The show will run from Friday, July 23rd – Saturday, August 7th. There will be a preview performance open to public and press on July 22nd, 2021 at 7:30pm. The opening night performance on July 23rd will be a special event with a reception following the performance. Evening performances for the show will start at 7:30pm; weekend matinee performances will start at 1:30pm.
