commUNITY 2026 featuring Big Freedia

Join Tulane University for commUNITY 2026, an annual celebration of connection, dialogue, and engagement centered on Tulane’s Core Value of Welcoming Community.

This year’s event will feature a moderated conversation and live performance with New Orleans icon Big Freedia, along with interactive community-building hubs, food, music, and opportunities to connect with fellow students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Throughout the event, attendees can explore three interactive community hubs focused on civic dialogue, intercultural connection, and sexual health and wellness, participate in the Welcoming Community Commitment Wall, enjoy local food vendors, and take part in a passport experience for a chance to receive a commemorative commUNITY tote bag.

Whether you come to meet someone new, explore campus resources, enjoy the food and entertainment, or reflect on your own role in building community, there will be many ways to participate.
