Community Town Hall: Dealing With Bias

Online

The COVID-19 Pandemic brought out the best in many frontline providers and those supporting them; but unfortunately it has also caused acts of xenophobia, anger, and intimidation directed at Asian and Asian-American students, faculty, and staff.

This is not the first time a national crisis has sparked bias, hate speech, and acts of harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender and/or sexual orientation.   Such actions do nothing to prevent viruses from spreading or solve other problems – but they are effective impediments to our ability to work together during this crucial time.

This Community Town hall is intended to provide an open and interactive dialogue among the diverse and thriving Tulane family -- so that we can be stronger together both during this crisis and as we rebuild afterwards, by showing the world that we do not tolerate bias or hatred toward anyone.
