Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is excited to host the second lecture in the Dean's Leaders & Lagniappe Lecture Series taking place throughout Fall 2023. Join our host Dean Thomas LaVeist each month as he speaks with visiting deans from schools of public health from around the nation in a lecture series held at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually.

This lecture series is a chance to expand our learning and networks, and to introduce our students, faculty, and wider audience to the innovations, ideas, and leadership values from distinguished deans of schools of public health from around the nation.

In October we welcome two lecturers, who will be speaking to their leadership experience in public health:

Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Dean and Bryson Distinguished Professor in Public Health at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health, and

Dr. Donna J. Petersen, Dean and Professor at the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida.

Lagniappe after this lecture will feature local artists and the art exhibit "The Separating Sickness", which will be on exhibition in the Diboll Gallery from October 26 - February 7. More info on this exhibit can be found here

There will be light refreshments served.

*Students who attend this lecture will receive points towards the ongoing Office of Student Experience Engagement Campaign*
