Dialogues on Difference: The Non-Profit Industrial Complex

Uptown Campus
LBC #201 - Race

Dialogues on Difference is a monthly workshop series facilitated by the Community Engagement Advocates focused on issues of power, privilege and identity.

This workshop will look at the ways that philanthropy and 501c3 nonprofit organizations rely on and serve to perpetuate many of the systems of oppression that they seek to address. We will explore what people who work in the non-profit field (whether as volunteers or professionals) can do to acknowledge and mitigate the structural harm of this arrangement, and explore alternative possibilities.
