Based on current COVID-19 trends, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is planning for the federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, to expire at the end of the day on Thursday May 11, 2023.

Join us on that day, May 11th at noon at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, as Dean Thomas LaVeist hosts a conversation around how we got here, what the end of this declaration means to the City, the State and the Nation, and the policies and programs that will end along with the declaration.
