October 28, 2021 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Uptown CampusEquity Thursdays offer weekly presentations by members of the Tulane University community and invited guests from Greater New Orleans. Faculty, Students, Staff, Alumni and Friends share information regarding topics of academic access. The sessions discuss cutting edge research, distinctive academic opportunities and offer a forum for reflection on the intersection of identity and the academic experience. The Center for Academic Equity serves lunch (free of charge) from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. We welcome students, faculty, and staff to come to Equity Thursdays and join the Center for Academic Equity community.
Join us this Thursday for a guided discussion and presentation on Nationally Competitive Grants and Fellowships. Dr. Jennifer Beers, Tulane’s coordinator for Nationally Competitive Scholarships, will talk about the value of applying for nationally competitive scholarships and to speak about some particular awards to demonstrate the variety of resources available. Including a number of awards dedicated to increasing representation from historically marginalized populations in certain academic and professional sectors.
