Violence prevention takes community. It extends beyond a sense of belonging to include strong support systems and equitable structures. This is especially true for young people and their families, and, as such, we all have a role to play in preventing youth exposure to violence.

The Center for Youth Equity at the Violence Prevention Institute invites the community to come together for a Field Day on the Green Way in celebration of National Youth Violence Prevention Week. This free event will offer a variety of opportunities for folks of all ages to play. Building relationships, physical activity, and social connection are all protective factors against youth exposure to violence.

Field Day on the Green Way is on Wednesday, April 26 from 4 to 6 pm near the Lemann basketball courts, fields, and clubhouse.
