Uptown CampusOne of the most distinctive artists of his generation, Stephen Hough combines a distinguished career as pianist with those of composer and writer. As the first classical performer to be awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, he also won the Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist Award in 2010, and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth in the New Year's Honours of 2014. Mr. Hough has composed works for orchestra, choir, chamber ensemble and solo piano. He is also a member of the faculty at The Juilliard School.
