History Things & Caribbean Things for Your New Orleans Mardi Gras Wiki

Online

Featuring Laura Rosanne Adderley, Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies

Sometimes we can lose sight of the larger New Orleans community that we are a part of outside of our comfortable, Tulane University bubble. This Carnival season, join us in anchoring ourselves in our rich Mardi Gras history and the holiday’s roots in Caribbean culture with Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies, Dr. Laura Rosanne Adderley.

Professor Adderley is on leave this semester finishing a book on abolition in the Caribbean, but she will be teaching Introduction to Caribbean History (HISL 1720) in Fall 2021.
