How Data Informs Decisions in Politics

Join the TUDC as we invite guest speaker, Assemblyman Steve Stern of the New York State Assembly to discuss his experience at the forefront of the intersection between data and politics. Assemblyman Stern is currently serving his fourth term in the NY State Assembly, a position he has held since 2018.
We will discuss voter turnout analysis, resource allocation, predictive modeling, election security, voter outreach, technology as it is used in elections, and much more.
Assemblyman Stern's experience as a four-time elected official will provide unique insight into the intricacies of the use of data in elections. This type of insight is important not only for encouraging widespread voter participation, but for increasing data literacy surrounding elections.
