Uptown CampusHave you ever received an email inviting you to publish in a scholarly journal? Have you been unsure of the quality of the journal – perhaps they are a new start-up, not yet known, very particular, or the launch of something big?
Recently, it has become harder and harder to distinguish the trustworthy journals from predatory journals. Predatory publishers and journals may disseminate plagiarized materials, or material lacking in quality control and lacking peer review all while charging the author a fee.
In this workshop/discussion, we will discuss how you can identify possible predatory journals and publishers. Everyone is also encouraged to bring in examples and share their own experiences as well.
