Islamophobia Awareness Week: Mosque Visit and Dialogue with Local Imams About Muslim Life in NOLA
Join us for a week of activities exploring ways we can address and prevent Islamophobia on our campus and create campus learning environments where Muslim students, faculty, and staff can thrive. In addition to the in-person and virtual sessions listed below, visit the LBC to view portraits and interviews of Tulane’s Muslim student community and the University Libraries for a book display highlighting significant past and current books on countering Islamophobia and supporting the Muslim community's thriving.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Friday prayer at Masjid El Raheem with Dr. Mourad Zerfaoui. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students, staff, and faculty from different backgrounds and faiths to experience the prayer, which will last about 30 minutes (including a 20-25-minute sermon and a 5-minute prayer). After the prayer, we’ll head to the accessory dwelling unit in the mosque courtyard for an informal gathering with the imams and community members. Food will be provided.
This event is taking place off-campus. Transportation will be provided for the first 20 people who RSVP here:https://tulane.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bO7HviuyOjvmM18
For Transportation, please meet at Cowen Circle at 12:20pm.
