Central Asian Culture, The Remarkable Architectural Heritage of Uzbekistan

This illustrated lecture focuses on the architectural heritage of the Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara in the Uzbekistan. Based on Professor Brumfild's personal experience in the region, the presentation also draws on his work with pre-revolutionary photographs in the collection of the library of Congress. This cultural lecture shows the region's transition form Russian Empire to independence and sovereign statehood.
