hat is the relationship between Literature and History? And what is the relationship between historical facts and their transformation in fiction? How does the Politics of liberation and resistance use fiction? How does the search for Identity use both History and fiction to the point of confusing and blurring them? What is the relationship between Memory, History and fiction? All these questions can be brought together in the specific situation of the West Indies through the myth of the Mulatto Solitude, a female heroine who inspired not only the political resistance in Guadeloupe but also the literary creation of Authors such as André and Simone Schwarz Bart.

The presentation will answer the question of how identity myths are made in a specific place, the West Indies.
