Labor's Capitalism
Labor’s Capitalism is a paper workshop symposium bringing together leading scholars to explore the evolving intersections of labor history and the history of capitalism through new research and collaborative discussion. Spanning topics from wage labor in the early republic to robotics, the five panels—Development of Capitalism, Service Economy, Technology, Finance, and Precarity—trace how work, markets, and inequality have been co-constructed across different historical moments. Built around pre-circulated papers, the format prioritizes deep engagement and collective critique over formal presentation.
RSVP in WaveSync. For details, including paper titles and participants, visit bit.ly/2026LCInfo or scan QR Code. You will receive a link to the papers after your RSVP is confirmed.
The symposium is sponsored by Tulane University’s School of Liberal Arts, the Departments of History and Africana Studies, Duke University Press, Labor and Working-Class History Association, and Labor: Journal of Working-Class History.
