Newcomb Alumnae Association Presents: The Veil a documentary from Raven Ancar

Uptown Campus

The Newcomb Alumnae Association’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee would like to invite all Newcomb alums to view “The Veil,” a documentary by Tulane student, Raven Ancar, '22.   The film unfolds the race-related trials and tribulations of Tulane Black students. From student athletes to POSSE Scholars, Ancar filmed several sit-down interviews with Black students to capture the racist systems that Tulane upholds, while simultaneously filming resilience in the Black student population.

  • Participants will be able to watch the documentary at home during the weekend of October 16th and 17th. A live virtual Q&A with Raven Ancar will take place the evening October 20th at 6:30 p.m. CST . NAA President, Lisa Rice, will host a virtual sit down with the film's director, Raven Ancar, and answer audience members questions.
  • Registrants will receive an email with a link to view the film starting Saturday at 10 a.m. CT. The film will be available, via the provided link, until the following Monday morning. A link to join the live Q&A with the film's director, Raven Ancar, will also be sent to all registrants.
