Join us as we remember and celebrate the life of Professor Emeritus Byron Michael Howard (1944-2023). Mr. Howard's journey with Tulane University began in 1968 when he participated in the newly formed Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre. He joined the faculty of the Newcomb Department of Music in 1978 and served as the Artistic Director of Summer Lyric Theatre from 1997 until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Howard continued to teach Voice and Musical Theatre at the University until his retirement in 2018.

The memorial celebration will include a 50-person choir of former students and SLT performers, as well as readings and solo performances in his honor. Following the tribute, there will be a reception for all attendees to share memories and stories.
