Summer Lyric Theatre has a long history of presenting operetta, and it is with great pride that we present one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most beloved works to inaugurate our 52nd season. With such colorful characters as Frederic, the “slave of duty” who was born on the 29th day of February, his devoted nursemaid Ruth, the sweet ingenue Mabel and her gaggle of sisters, their father Major General Stanley, and the dashing Pirate King, The Pirates of Penzance is sure to delight audiences of all ages in this fully-staged and costumed concert version with the SLT Orchestra in the center of the action on stage.  PIRATES will feature New Orleans favorites Sean Patterson as the Major General, Elizabeth Argus as Ruth and John Michael Haas as Frederick.  Olivia Yokers (Mabel) and Andre Chiang (Pirate King) will be making their SLT debuts.
