Tulane School of Architecture launches its first-ever multi-year Research Studios with a roundtable discussion moderated by Susan Szenasy, Director of Design Innovation and past Editor in Chief at Metropolis Magazine (New York).

On August 23rd, Tulane School of Architecture debuts an array of in-depth Research Studios, scheduled to launch in Fall 2019. These multi-year studios follow the school’s hands-on, interdisciplinary educational approach covering top priorities in today’s global architectural agenda.

Tulane School of Architecture will host a roundtable discussion moderated by Susan S. Szenasy, Director of Design Innovation and past Editor in Chief at Metropolis Magazine (New York), with Richard Campanella, Associate Dean for Research, and the Research Studios’ lead instructors themselves, including Dean Iñaki Alday.

The Research Studios reflect the school’s holistic educational approach, which combines solid intellectual training with studio practice and adopts a cross-disciplinary approach that merges architecture and urbanism with other fields such as conservation, sustainable real estate development, science, engineering, social sciences, economy, humanities and law.

Roundtable participants: Richard Campanella, Iñaki Alday, Byron Mouton, Margarita Jover, Kentaro Tsubaki, Ammar Eloueini, Scott Bernhard, Judith Kinnard, Rubén García Rubio, Emilie Taylor Welty and Michael Shoriak.

Event Details:

1:30pm - 3pm: Individual presentations from studio faculty, summarizing each studio starting in academic year 2019/2020.

3pm - 4pm: Roundtable discussion, moderated by Susan Szenasy of Metropolis Magazine, with studio faculty and Associate Dean for Research Richard Campanella.

5pm: Students submit studio preference forms.
