The Right To Vote

Uptown Campus

The program would be focused on voter disenfranchisement and voter purging in recent elections. It would look at the specific work that Stacey Abrahams and other politicians are engaging within to prevent this type of practice and the historical practices (convicts losing the right to vote, not being able to vote without certain type of ID, mobility etc.) that prevent voters of color, specifically black people from being able to participate fully in political elections. The program would feature a speaker such as Soror Karen Carter Peterson (Louisiana State Senator)
