November 19, 2020 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Uptown CampusOn November 20th of this year we celebrate Trans Day of Remembrance, to connect with our trans* friends, community members, vanguards, and ancestors. Many transgender people have felt that them, as individuals, are overlooked until they are dead, receiving their roses. To change the perspective in which people commemorate transgender persons, the quote "Give me my roses while I'm still here" has become prominent in reenforcing love and appreciation for living trans people. We at GES want to uplift each other and strengthen our communities' connections at times when death can be overlooking. The Trans Day of Rose Workshop will be a space for Trans, Nonbinary, Gender Non-Conforming, and Two-Spirit to decompress and socialize while constructing flower crowns for visibility and facemasks for personal health. No more than 15 people will be permitted in the space per hour, all while social distancing.
