MOVIE Screening - “20 Days in Mariupol” (2023) is an award-winning documentary, directed by Mstyslav Chernov, which offers a firsthand narrative of the 20-day Russian invasion of Mariupol, a city still held under Russian control to this day. The documentary chronicles the harrowing experiences of a group of Ukrainian journalists from the Associated Press who found themselves trapped within the besieged Mariupol. Amidst their struggle to persist in their mission of documenting the brutalities of the Russian invasion, these journalists, the sole international reporters left in the city, manage to capture haunting and indelible images of the conflict. These images include heart-wrenching scenes of children in distress, mass graves, the devastating bombing of a maternity hospital, and more.
