Tulane Global Humanities Center: The Launch

The Tulane Global Humanities Center (TGHC) celebrates its launch day on September 8, 2025, at 12pm. Dean Brian Edwards will introduce the Center and its goals to foreground the humanities as critical fields of study to the globally networked world and amplify humanities scholarship on campus. The inaugural theme of the center is Port Cities; a topic grounded in Tulane’s location in New Orleans/Bulbancha. Global Humanities Center Faculty Board members Dr. Christopher Dunn and Dr. Edwige Tamalet Talbayev as well as the two inaugural Postdoctoral Fellows of the Global Humanities Center Dr. Maryam Athari and Dr. Tori Bush will speak about how the theme of Port Cities informs their work and research. Free lunch will be served.
