Valentina Raman is the Co-Founder of YouthxYouth (YxY), a youth-led intergenerational learning community for education activists, and also the Co-Founder of The Weaving Lab, a community of "weavers" learning together to connect people, projects and places into thriving systems. Additionally, she serves as an education & youth development consultant for schools, NGOs, foundations and governments seeking to engage youth in the transformation of their communities and learning environments. Before YxY, Valentina worked at Ashoka building its Changemaker Schools network, and as an educator and administrator within schools in her home city of Washington, D.C., including St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School and Horace Mann Elementary School. Valentina has been actively involved in local education transformation as Board Member of EmpowerEd, a teacher-led advocacy group advancing equity in public education, and Advisor of the Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School, expanding access to nature-based education across the region. Beyond her education and youth-focused work, Valentina is a weaver of artists locally and globally, where she seeks to shift power and narratives through her music and writing.
