Wikithon: Women Composers of the Gulf South

Tulane University Libraries is partnering with the Boulanger Initiative to host an April Wikithon focused on enhancing Wikipedia entries for women composers of the Gulf South.

The Boulanger Initative (BI) advocates for women and all gender marginalized composers. BI fosters inclusivity and representation to expand and enrich the collective understanding of what music is, has been, and can be. BI promotes music composed by women through performance, education, research, consulting, and commissions.

BI's monthly Wikithons are designed to improve the coverage of gender-marginalized composers on Wikipedia by directly editing and improving their pages on the site.

This event will be hybrid.

In person location: Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, room 430

Virtual location: Zoom

Registration is required for all attendees through Boulanger Initiative's EventBrite registration form in order to receive access to the Wikipedia Event Dashboard and instructions for creating a Wikipedia account.
