Uptown CampusA common critique of outdoor recreation programs is that they are not accessible to marginalized communities, including women and people of color. This trip is designed as a wilderness retreat for women and femme-identifying students. The goal of this trip is to create a safe and empowering environment for women to explore outdoor recreation and to have a space to talk openly about women?s issues. The trip will be a mix of hiking, swimming, relaxing, and discussion. With the input of participants, the trip leaders will design facilitated discussion focused on womanhood, intersectionality, mental health, leadership, and experiences in the outdoors?all through a feminist lens.
