Writing Center Guided Writing Sessions for Academic Papers

Starting October 13, the Writing Center is hosting student drop-in hours Thursday's from 6 - 9 pm. Drop-in hours will include short presentations and handouts on the process of writing as well as time for individualized feedback.

You are welcome to attend any of the sessions, but if you "write along" with the series, you can have a completed paper by Thanksgiving break!

All sessions will be held in the Academic Learning & Tutoring Center located in Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, Suite B01.

October 13: Honing in on your thesis statement: brainstorming and researching workshop

October 20: Getting started: outlining during the research process; analyzing your sources

October 27: How to structure your paper: Topic sentences, introductions and conclusions

November 3: How to structure your paper: the body paragraph and continuity between paragraphs

November 10: Breaking down citations: in-text citations and your bibliography 

November 17: Editing: reverse outlining; reading your paper
