Yesterday’s Weather: The Prehistory of Climate Change
Speaker: Professor Kellie Robertson, English Department, University of Maryland
Why should we care about premodern weather narratives? How was the relation between climate and individual bodies imagined by medieval and early modern writers? How can literary and historical texts serve as paleoclimate proxy data? Perhaps most importantly, how do these narratives and beliefs continue to shape the stories that we tell ourselves about climate change today?
