Chi O's annual philanthropic soccer tournament to raise money for Make a Wish!
Can a modern democracy impose a prolonged military occupation on another people while retaining its core democratic values?
That is the question asked by the award-winning documentary The Law In These Parts, a film by Ra'anan Alexandrowicz and Liran Atzmor, about the court system operated by the Israel Defense Forces in the West Bank. It won the Best Documentary award at the 2011 Jerusalem Film Festival and the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize in Documentary at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

The event is hosted by Middle East North African Studies, and co-sponsored by the Kathryn B. Gore Chair of French Studies. The screening and Q&A will be in Stone Auditorium in the Woldenburg Art Center, followed at 7:00 pm by a reception and the opening of Camille Farrah Lenain’s exhibit “Made of Smokeless Fire,” with music by Mahmoud Chouki (Newcomb Hall Third Floor Hallway).

In advance of Transgender Day of Visibility, nolaHYPE, Tulane's Violence Prevention Institute, and The Broad Theater present a film screening and panel featuring two short documentaries - House of TULIP and CANS Can't Stand.
This event is open to the public and "pay-what-you-can" as a donation to New Orleans-based organizations supporting transgender and gender non-conforming individuals.
Join us on March 30 from 7 to 9 pm at The Broad Theater to watch both documentaries and hear from those involved with the film's subject matter.
