The concert Piano Series brings acclaimed pianists from around to world to the Dixon Hall stage. January 30 features the reknowned Sung Chang.

****

Sung Chang was born in Seoul, Korea, and began playing the piano at the age of three. At age five, he gave his debut concert and became the youngest winner of the Nagoya International Piano Competition in Japan, where he also received the Chamber Music and Japan Expo special prizes.

After working together for years as ensemble players in NYC's new music scene, Bill Solomon and David Friend have joined forces to create a new project. Bent Duo explores the existing percussion and piano duo repertoire, and commissions new works that exploit the sonic and performative potential of this pairing.

Recent compositions written for Bent Duo by graduate composers Zach Pine and Stephen Montalvo, and composers Casey Anderson, Scott Wollschleger, and Sarah Hennies Free and Open to the Public.
