From the pop and sizzle of fireworks to the buzz and beat of New Orleans Jazz, Tulane's commencement is an experience unlike any other. In New Orleans and at Tulane we march to the beat of our own drum, and that spirit is infused into every part of the University Commencement Ceremony. University Commencement brings together all Tulane grads, from undergraduate to graduate and professional students to celebrate the pomp and circumstance of the day, which includes the procession of graduates and faculty, the keynote address, and the conferral of degrees.
Please join President Michael A. Fitts and our very special guests for a livestream event on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Prelude with slideshow and musical performance by Dr. Michael White begins at 1:45 p.m. CT. The main program will begin at 2 p.m. CT as we bring together the class of 2020 to celebrate the conferral of degrees.

This ceremony celebrates students who have acheived PhD or master's level degrees in the Schools of Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, and Medicine - Biomedical Sciences.
This ceremony will recognize the School of Medicine graduating Class of 2020.
Where: New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Hall C
Time: Doors open at 1:00 p.m., Diploma Ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m.
Students, Hooders, Platform Party and Faculty Arrival Time: 1:00 p.m.
This ceremony will recognize Liberal Arts August and December 2019 graduates and May 2020 graduating seniors who are eligible to participate.
Each May, Newcomb-Tulane College recognizes students who, by achieving academic excellence, embody the highest goals of the institution. Prizes are awarded by the appropriate departmental and college committees and are presented at a special Senior Awards Ceremony held during commencement weekend. By invitation only. Students will receive invitations to their Tulane email address in April.
The 2020 SPHTM graduation ceremony will take place at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts (1419 Basin Street, New Orleans, LA 70116) on May 16th at 3:30pm. All graduating students MUST arrive by 2:00pm for check-in and robing. Students and/or guests requiring special accommodations due to mobility difficulties should contact Lacey Allen (lallen8@tulane.edu) by Monday, May 4th.
