A fun and unique way to foster community and collaboration across departments and schools.
Hiring students to help with classes and research can be mutually beneficial, but it's important that faculty follow proper procedures. Student employees make up the largest percentage of Tulane's workforce, come learn about what it takes to get your students hired and gain some tips on how to manage them effectively.
Through participation in two national surveys of undergraduates, Tulane learns about the expectations of its incoming freshmen (TFS) as well as the actual experiences of students at Tulane (NSSE). Data gleaned from these surveys can help faculty better understand our student population and their experiences and, thus, inform teaching practices.
Universal design (UD) for learning is an approach to designing course instruction, materials, evaluation, activities, and content in such a way that all people can participate in the educational process without adaptation or modification. Using this concept, many formal accommodations will likely be avoided because options for learning and evaluation are accessible to everyone.
You can create a more engaged atmosphere in any size class, small to large to very large, with little to no planning. This session will model a number of possibilities.
We will also discuss how to facilitate constructive conversations around these topics between students.

Get Experience, Earn Credit, and Fulfill your 2nd Tier
Public service internships are a great way to fulfill the 2nd tier of the graduation requirement, earn elective credit hours, get involved with their community, and gain professional experience.
Students interested in doing a public service internship in the Spring and Summer semesters of 2019 are invited to attend this information session and learn about unique opportunities, application process, and deadlines.
