Wave Goodbye

Wave Goodbye is an annual party for graduates that is modeled after New Orleans' many springtime festivals. All graduates and their guests are invited to mingle on Gibson Quad on the uptown campus on Friday, May 17, 6-8 p.m. The event features music from Flow Tribe and a variety of New Orleans food in small plates. Wine and beer will be available for purchase (cash only). Graduates are allotted seven tickets each, one of which the graduate will need to use to enter the party. Children 10 years and younger do not need tickets.

School of Liberal Arts Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony

This ceremony will recognize Liberal Arts August and December 2018 graduates and May 2019 graduating seniors and others who are eligible to participate. (Diplomas will not be distributed at this ceremony, as graduates will receive diplomas via USPS delivery three to four weeks after commencement.) A post-ceremony reception will follow in the Superdome until 3:30pm approximately.

 

University Commencement Ceremony

The University Commencement Ceremony honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges. It features the pomp and circumstance expected of a traditional commencement celebration with a New Orleans twist. At this ceremony, expect to see the procession of graduates and faculty, the conferral of degrees and hear live jazz.

 

Tickets are not required. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. 

 

Law School Graduation Ceremony

Following the university’s unified ceremony held earlier in the day downtown, Tulane Law School will hold a separate graduation ceremony at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.   While the conferral of degrees takes place during the morning event, which honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges, the law school ceremony is dedicated specifically to the law class of 2019.

Masters/PhD Hooding Ceremony

The Masters/PhD Hooding Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 in McAlister Auditorium at 9:00am. 

This ceremony is for students receiving Master's degrees and PhDs from the following schools: Liberal Arts, Science & Engineering, and biomedical sciences in the School of Medicine.
