Uprisings, Futures, and Freedoms

Anthropocene River Campus Public Programs welcomes Campus participants and collaborators and the public to gather together for a slate of experiences open to all. Programming includes offerings by Campus participants, members of the Anthropocene Working Group, and additional Gulf South artists, scholars, and scientists from Tulane University and beyond.

Uprisings, Futures, and Freedoms Artists based in New Orleans and beyond respond to the climate crisis and colonialism by creating works of art here that re-situate and, at times, honor, critique, and problematize the distant and recent past while pushing neglected gulfic stories into the future.

Presentations by Kira Akerman (Hollow Tree), Shana M. griffin, (DISPLACED Project/PUNCTUATE) , Kristina Kay Robinson (Republica: Temple of Color and Sound), and Dread Scott (Slave Rebellion Reenactment), followed by a discussion moderated by Denise Frazier.
