E. Patrick Johnson will perform and read from Honeypot:  Black Southern Women Who Love Women followed by a moderated discussion.  This is part of the School of Liberal Arts Dean's Speaker Series and Amistad Research Center's Conversations in Color.

Dr. E. Patrick Johnson is the Carlos Montezuma Professor of African American Studies and Performance Studies at Northwestern University and is the author of two award-winning books—Appropriating Blackness: Performance and the Politics of Authenticity and Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South—and an editor of books on performance studies and queer studies. He is a prolific performer and scholar, whose work has impacted African American studies, performance studies, and sexuality studies. He is founding director of the Black Arts Initiative at Northwestern University.
