On Thursday, March 12 at 4:00 PM, Heather Luciano (Publisher – Health & Medical Sciences, STM Journals, Elsevier) will lead a free workshop for researchers, students, etc. who are looking to publish articles in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals. This event coincides with Health Sciences Research Days on the Downtown Campus. The details are below. Please feel free to share with any graduate students and/or researchers you feel would be interested. Registration is not required.

Speaker: Heather Luciano, MA, MBA

 

Bio: Heather Luciano, MA, MBA has worked in the publishing industry for the past decade, currently as Publisher at Elsevier in the Scientific, Technical, and Medical Journals division, within the Health & Medical Sciences group, overseeing a portfolio of cardiology journals. Her unique experience in editorial, marketing, and sales throughout the educational publishing industry (at the K-12, higher education, and scholarly/scientific research level), gives her keen insight into the publishing process and how vital the role companies like Elsevier play is in advancing science, technology and health for the benefit of humanity.

 

Topics can include:

· Choosing the right journal for your article

· Understanding the editorial and review process

· Common mistakes/dos and don'ts

· Ethics in scholarly publishing

· Promoting your article for maximum impact
