KerryAnn O’Meara is Professor of Higher Education and Immediate Past President of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE). For ten years she served as the Director of the University of Maryland ADVANCE program which supports the hiring, recruitment, retention and advancement of women and Black and Brown faculty. Dr. O'Meara's research examines faculty careers and academic rewards systems with a particular focus on organizational practices that support and limit the full participation of diverse faculty and engaged scholars. In this presentation, Dr. O'Meara shares lessons learned from research, practice and funded projects on equity-minded approaches to faculty evaluation. Current funded projects examine equity in hiring, workload, promotion and tenure policy reform, and other discretionary spaces in academic affairs.

The event will be held virtually on Zoom here.
