Remember early in the pandemic when speculation was that the COVID-19 pandemic would wreak havoc on the African continent? Senegal is an example of how early and effective campaigns to combat the spread of the coronavirus could save lives in countries with fragile health care systems. Learn about challenges posed to Senegal during this global pandemic, the implementation of rapid testing, commitment to public health and communication strategy, and future concerns for the nation post pandemic. Then, learn about Tulane’s Senegal and New Orleans: Atlantic Connections Summer program which will explore historical and cultural links dating from the 18 th century Atlantic World to the present on a 10-day cultural immersion program in Summer 2021.
