In Islam, the holy month of Ramadan is a period where Muslims fast from sunrise till sunset. Fasting is important because it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Iftaar is a fast opening meal for Muslims. It takes place at sunrise. In order to support all fasting students at Tulane during Ramadan, we are providing support in the form of iftar. We want to create a sense of community and provide support to fasting students. One of the dates for the iftar is after the last day of classes however students will still be fasting and a support system would still be helpful to all of those students.
