Juneteenth at Tulane - Libations, Reflection, Spoken Word, and Music

Join Us to Observe Juneteenth June 18th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on the Uptown Campus and in NOLA

Tulane will host a Juneteenth celebration on Friday, June 18th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on the uptown campus. The event location has been moved to the Richardson Building (Building No. 5), room 117, due to expected inclement weather. A reception will follow the event in the Center for Intercultural Life's mulitpurpose room, which is across the hall.

Activities will include:

• Opening remarks and libations (Carolyn Barber-Pierre)
• Singing of the Black National Anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing (All - Copies will be available)
• What is Juneteenth? (Dr. Mia L. Bagneris)
• Ancestral Way – Using What Our Ancestors Taught Us (Dr. Jinaki Flint)
• Spoken Word (Ra Malika Imhotep)
• Closing Music and Celebration (Casa Samba)
