Pam Fessler and James Carville Discuss Carville's Cure

Throughout most of the 20^th Century, patients suffering from what is now called Hansen’s Disease were put under mandatory, often lifelong, quarantine at the National Leprosarium located on an abandoned sugar plantation in Iberville Parish. Former NPR correspondent Pam Fessler sheds light on the disease and the life of patients at leprosarium known as Carville in Carville's Cure: Leprosy, Stigma, and the Fight for Justice. 

Join us as Fessler discusses her book with native son and political strategist James Carville.
