Sharon Lavigne Speaker Event

USG Sustainability Committee and Alpha Kappa Psi are proud to co-host a speaker event with environmental justice advocate Sharon Lavigne on Tuesday, April 5th at 5PM. Winner of the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize and founder of grassroots organization RISE St. James, Sharon is a local celebrity for her work protecting Cancer Alley residents from the development of new, toxic petrochemical plants. In our Q&A Panel, we plan to discuss how she became an environmental justice leader, what obstacles she has faced, and how we can help protect Louisiana communities from toxic pollution.
