Political Economy of Corruption: Causes and Consequences

The Murphy Institute and the Institute for Corruption Studies host the fourth Political Economy of Corruption conference on May 5th and 6th, 2023.  The conference will bring together a global, interdisciplinary network of scholars across social science and law in order to foster collaboration on corruption research.  Scholars will present papers on corruption and growth; measuring corruption; the relationship between corruption, income inequality, and poverty; corruption and racial inequities; corruption and environmental degradation; voter participation and corruption; and more.  Presented papers will feature in a special issue of Southern Economic Journal.  While this will be a small, roundtable-style conference, we invite local scholars to participate in the days' events.
