The Alberto-Culver Lecture Series, established by Carol Lavin Bernick (NC '74), brings accomplished professional women to campus to discuss topics about women in business. Laura Bates is the Founder and Principal of Brand Verve, a brand strategy firm in Washington, D.C. She previously held senior brand roles at Procter & Gamble, Marriott, and Domino's. Her consulting clients include The Ritz-Carlton, Starbucks, and GE, with her hospitality work earning industry awards. She is a faculty member for the Association of National Advertisers and a guest lecturer at New York University. Laura holds a communications degree from Tulane and an MBA from Duke.
